As we look back, after more than a decade and a half, not
without some pain but certainly with more pleasure, we at Udavum Karangal
experience an enormous sense of satisfaction and fulfilment. The pain of not
having new clothes for children on a festive day, when there were no means for
food itself, and the pleasure of receiving Rs.2000 to buy them from a girl, who
had a vow to give her first salary for charity. The pain of empty handedness
when a sick child was hospitalised and its life depended on a costly medicine
worth Rs.1500, and the pleasure of receiving it from a college student who
found it in an unclaimed money purse.
To survive we need food, clothing, shelter, education and medical aid. And life
is a constant and continuing struggle.. to survive.. to exist.. and to grow.
Udavum Karangal extends help and a new lease of life to over 1800 residents.
And their lives depend only on the support and help from kind-hearted people
like you ,who care. Your aid and association can go a long way in sustaining
this service, through various schemes.

Endowment Schemes
We at Udavum Karangal have believed in a continuous participation by our
wellwishers and have introduced various endowment schemes which will ensure a
concrete base and a secured future for our residents. Here the sums donated are
invested in Fixed deposit / Corpus programmes, where the principal is not
disturbed, which ensures the concrete base. The interest amounts from these
investments are utilised for the recurring expenses.
